A tale about Rubman swimrun – 50 km of epic adventure

I have been struggling to put the words down on this.
Usually it is easy for me to write a summary after a big competition, but this time i almost didnt want to talk about it.

After some days i realised it was becouse this time, it was a personal experience.
So close to the hearth that i found it difficult to even share.

But after some days it started to sink in.
We did that, me, Ruben, Ievgen, Emil. We did the full course.
On the way the crew grew, with Terje, Oli, Nils and Andrea.
They jumped in and did this adventure with us.
Everyone working together to experience this long day of Norwegian urban city centre, fjords, trails, islands and almost forgotten places.

Ruben had made a route that ended up beiing 51 KM in total distance, far into ultra Territory , with 7 swims (over 6000 meters divided) where the longest was Gansfjorden at about 1800.

The places we ran and swam past was with start in – Hundvåg – svømme- Buøy – vaulen – svømme Gansfjorden – dale – li – hommersåk – sjølvik – rosenvik -svøm uskekalven svøm – kalvøy svøm – hellesøy – lindøy – svøm vassøy – langøy- svøm roaldsøy – and then we ended up at Hundvåg again. 10 Hours, 21 minutes later.
But many years richer in experience and lifelessons.

Atleast for me this was soul cleansing, and a reminder to experience life as you like the best, in your way.
And also if you didnt know, it is beutiful out there, outside the door.

Sometimes with friends running, sometimes all alone in the big sea, with your toughts.
Only way is forward and inward.

I want to thank everyone that helped making this possible, i am afraid to forget someone. But i will try. You guys in the boats, you where heroes, making us safe when we didnt see. Thank you Dr jesman, Kaptein alf, Lars henrik og tormod and not forget
«Anita i ribben». And everyone else making this trip possible, Tore, Kenny and the Drone guy, you managed to catch how i felt. There is probably more, everyone that cheered. The woman offering chocolate. The wonderful guy that helped us when we swam into his garden.

I hope it motivates your own journey, i dont want this to be anything else than what i did, it is not to brag. Someone will always do more, and it is ok to be happy with less, it doesnt matter. As long as it brings you joy.
