My guest – Caris Dempster
My guest on the podcast this week is - Caris Dempster. Third person out on this seasons “trening og livsstilspodden” is my swiming coach. She is a very cool woman with a personality that i just had to interview. If your a tri-athlete in Stavanger, there is a high chance that you will meet this person. I dont know how many people she has learned how to swim “freestyle”. Im probably not her best student, but i would recommend her if you want to get better at swimming. This episode is more of a “happy go lucky episode”. We know each other pretty well after some years now. But there is a little agenda for me, since i am doing a ironman next weekend (3 july.) So i wanted to pick her brain about that among other things. I hope you enjoy getting to know her better. She is working as a volunteer at the ironman sandnes, they still need more help this weekend. My Guest – Mike Tuchscherer
My guest this week is no other than Mike Tuchscherer Sometimes life gives you the strangest curveballs. In 2014 i was in OHIO in USA for the Arnolds sports festival. A huge convention that houses all kinds of power and fitness sports. I was there as a coach and tourist and i got to see so many of the greats. In the powerlifting area i had the chance to meet Mike and we had a short talk. More memorable for me than him ofcourse. In 2022 i was in Africa with the world championships and the same Mike was there. I have a list over some people that i want to do a podcast with, before I retire, and Mike (also Bonica) is on the top of that list. So i asked him expecting a No, but to my surprise he said yes. Whos is Mike? Currently, Mike's achievements include: Winning the Gold Medal at the 2009 World Games Winning 8 USA Powerlifting National Championships 2 Bronze, 3 Silver, 1 Gold medals in IPF World Championships Set 3 IPF World Records multiple times Competed internationally both single ply and unequipped. Stevnerapport – Stavanger Triathlon
Selv om at jeg ser ut som skurken i flåklypa grand prix, mr Blodstrupmoen (tåler ikke å tape og gjør hva som helst for å vinne), så var det en dag fylt med revansj. Hver år avholdes Stavanger Triathlon, med distansen olympisk og sprint. Første gangen jeg deltok i denne typen konkurranse, prøve jeg sprint. Det er en litt kortere distanse enn olympisk, men jeg liker den veldig godt. Det går fort i alle disipliner, og en fin løype for de som har lyst å prøve seg for første gang. I år handlet det om å få litt mer kontroll over de tingene som har vært vanskelige, og å få stevne erfaring før ironman i juni. Og det gikk….. Bra! Svømming er min største bøyg, men det gikk bedre i dag. Fikk bedre kontroll og følte at de tingene som var øvd på, faktisk kunne benyttes. Ingen tvil om at det kreves mer trening her, spesielt i åpent farvann. Men allerede etter noen uker har de tingene som gikk så godt i bassenget, begynt å vise seg i ferskvann også. Selv om jeg ble sjøsyk i vannet. Sykling og løping gikk veldig bra, overraskende nok ikke så langt fra 10...
Guide – Hvordan gjøre ditt første styrkeløftstevne
Hva har du begitt deg ut på? Skal du være med på ditt første styrkeløftstevne, og så har du fått litt hetta? Ikke vær redd. Denne guiden bør kunne minste stressnivået ørlite. Slik at du kan stresse over kg du skal løfte, istedenfor alt annet rundt. Et fullt styrkeløftstevne inneholder tre øvelser, knebøy, benkpress og markløft. Noen mener at festen etterpå er en del av konkurransen, men der er ingen helt enige ennå. Det finnes også benkpress-stevner, der man kun gjør pauseunderholdningen i styrkeløft. Altså løfter benk. Der er reglene like, men da selvfølgelig kun benkpress utføres. Når skal man møte opp? I styrkeløft har vi noe som heter innveiing, det skjer 2 timer før stevnestart. Eller puljestart. Er det flere en 15 deltagere, så vil man dele opp i flere puljer. Gjerne etter vektklasse eller hva som passer i forhold til deltagere. Det er alltid en fordel at hele vektklasser deltar i samme pulje, så lenge det er mulig. Ender man opp i pulje to, så vil stevnet naturlig nok begynne med knebøy for pulje 1. Og så skal man delta selv når første pulje er ferdig med tre løft i første øvelse. Begynner stevnet klokken 12.00 så vil...

New season of my podcast is out! So, first of. This is a english episode of “trening og livsstilspodden”. English guest means english language. So the description of it should be in english. I guess i will have some new listeners that would not be able to listen to the podcast regularly, so welcome you are. Sometimes there will be english and sometimes it will be in norwegian. I just ask guests if they want to join. And when they say yes i will cater to how it would suit them best. Short introduction of me, norwegian powerlifter/coach with passion for training others and trying to learn as much as possible on this planet before i leave. I am especially interested in how people get to become what they do and try to help new people get to their goal faster than i did.
